I am currently a sophomore at the University of Maryland studying Accounting and Finance and pursuing a minor in Actuarial Science. Some activities that I participate in on-campus are my business fraternity, AKPsi, Taiwanese American Student Association, and Korean Student Association. I have formulated incredible relationships with these amazing groups of people and I hope that I can continue to meet new individuals through other opportunities. I am in the Public Leadership Scholars program where I have been learning about many leadership principles and how to apply them to my personal endeavors. Leadership is a quality that has numerous benefits that can help even if you are not always in a leadership position. It can be applied to many situations, especially while working with others; it strengthens the bonds and trust between each other and through clear communication, it allows for an efficient workflow that assists the team as a whole. If there was one thing that I learned from my time in PL, it is that everyone has a different way of leading. I myself am still figuring out how I function as a leader but it is important to acknowledge that there are always multiple ways to approach different situations. While I plan to utilize these skills to hold a leadership position in the future, I know that regardless of what I plan on doing next, understanding the core principles of leadership will help me be a better person as well.
As a Brother of Alpha Kappa Psi Omega Theta chapter, I have developed many professional skills and leadership abilities. It has provided me with the resources necessary to enhance my business knowledge and achieve a career in the business industry. AKPsi has allowed me to meet so many unique and driven individuals that I know I will be friends with for the rest of my life.
